Quilled Hibiscus

I'm acting as a guest designer at IQCG Blog this month. They asked me to quill something using my favourite technique. My favourite is to quill  just by attaching paper into designs without using tools.

So, I decided to quill these beautiful hibiscus using this technique. I have used 5mm strips for the entire project. The strips are just neatly cut and attached.

Quilled Chrysanthemum

Chrysanthemums take life during winter so I decided to quill them as a welcome to winter.

For the flowers I used 5mm shades of pink quilling paper. Made loose coils then elongated to get the long tear drop shape. For leaves I used shades of green. The bee is made of black, yellow and white strips 5mm each. To get special look I added pearls randomly at the leaf part.

This I have done for IQCG Challenge-31 Bingo. I chose 3rd vertical down with pink, wings and pearl.

Quilled Peacock

This is my first quilled peacock. Though it took sometime I liked the way it finally turned out. 

I took the outline of peacock from online and quilled it. For the body part I used the beehive technique. The centre part of the feathers are tight coils shaped as tear drops where as all the remaining part were strips and in between I used tight coils and V shaped paper as decoration.  I used green, blue, yellow as my primary colours and all the paper strips are 5mm dimension.

This I have done for IQCG Challenge-29 Incredible India. I chose our National bird peacock as my theme for this challenge.IQCG Challenge-29.

Banyan tree

Banyan Tree is considered a sacred tree in Hindu mythology so I decided to quill it with inspiration from Suganti Mohan work.
The trunk and roots were quilled marquise from brown strips. The leaf part is quilled using beehive technique from different variations of green colour.

Quilling SunFlowers

This is another wall décor item that I have quilled.

The sunflowers are made from yellow and light brown colour strips quilled as marquise. The centre part is a tight coil from brown strips. The leaves are made from green colour strips. All the strips are 5mm dimension.

Snowy Night..

Hi all this is a special one to me as its my first competition post... I made this for IndianQuillingChallenge IQCG#20 : white on white challenge..

Ganesha..

The Ganesha was quilled on the occasion of vinayaka chaviti.

The whole project was quilled using beehive technique and I loved using many colours for this. The original dimension is less than A4 size.
